One of the available nodes in a flex folder is the Subscriptions node. Because the node’s name can be customized, your DM administrator might name it “My Subscriptions” or “My Clients/Matters”. Throughout this document, the Subscriptions node refers to the node that contains all of the clients and/or matters to which you have subscribed.
If you use a legal database, clients, matters, and document types build the virtual folder structure. Client and matter levels are defined as Subscription Levels. You have the ability to select what values you want displayed when using subscription levels. The subscription level can also contain Enumerations, which filter the clients and matters by a profile lookup value, such as Document Type.
Enumerations are automatically populated with all existing values. For document types, each defined document type in your library would appear in the virtual folder structure; however, you can hide one or more of these enumeration values.
An enumeration allows you to further filter of search results based on the enumeration’s criteria. An enumeration can be based on any lookup field on the profile form.
For example, you are subscribed to clients and matters, but perhaps you only want to see items that have the RM document type. The enumeration allows the search results to filter through all of the subscribed clients and matters, and return only those items matching the RM document type.
The virtual folder structure can be built by one to three subscription levels and zero to two enumerated levels.
