Setting Security

To set security for a client or matter:

  1. Hover your cursor over the client or matter where you want to set security; when the pop-up menu appears, select Set Security.

  2. The Security dialog box appears. All of the DM groups appear in the Groups pane. Click a group name to view the individual member user names in the Users pane.

  3. The Current Trustees pane shows all of trustees for this client or matter. Select an item from the Groups or Users pane and then click the right arrow button. The group or user appears in the Current Trustees pane.

    Conversely, you can select the group or user name from the Current Trustees list and click the left arrow button to remove it from the trustees list.

  4. Select the group or user name in the Current Trustees pane to view the access rights.

  5. Click the Access Rights drop-down list to select one of the following options:

    • View Profile - The Allow check box is selected for the View Profile access right.

    • Read Only - The Allow check box is selected for the View Profile, View Document, Retrieve Document, and Copy access rights.

    • Normal Access - The Allow check box is selected for the View Profile, Edit Profile, View Document, Retrieve Document, Edit Content, and Copy access rights.

    • Custom - Select the Allow or Deny check boxes for the access rights that you want to allow or deny.

      • View Profile

      • Edit Profile

      • View Document

      • Retrieve Document

      • Edit Content

      • Copy

      • Delete

      • Control Access

      • Access Published Only

  6. Select the Allow or Deny check boxes for the various access rights you want to assign to the group or user, and then click OK.
